What is your favorite travel spot?

Camping is my favorite getaway. I LOVE the Big Horns; fishing, camping, waterfalls, hiking trails, looking over the mountains for as far as you can see. It is definitely my idea of a relaxing weekend. There are cabins to rent if you don’t feel like sleeping in a camper and a restaurant with giant cinnamon rolls if you get tired of campfire cooking, so anyone would enjoy this vacation!

Tell us something about yourself.

I love to shoot guns, any gun really. There are not many things that I am good at and enjoy as much. My favorite gun is a competition pellet pistol that I took to a state 4-H accuracy shoot. My husband and his friends can be reluctant to let me challenge them. I’d say the apple doesn’t fall from the tree though, because my dad and sister are my toughest opponents.

What is your top life highlights so far?

I have so much to be thankful for. In 2016 I purchased my first house and got married. I love coming home from my dream job to an ideal husband and a playful German Shepherd! I am having fun trying out new recipes and cooking for the in-laws who live right next door. I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.

What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most?

As far back as I can remember I had wanted to work in the optometric field so that I could air puff people to get my revenge for having it done on me. I love meeting different personalities. I’ve definitely gotten to work with some influential and intelligent people. Little kids can be very amusing, especially when picking on their siblings.  I feel like I make a difference in the community when patients share stories at church about how getting their sight back has changed their lives. As soon as the practice learns something new, we turn around and there is more to learn. Patients ask all day every day if we have a new piece of equipment, and most of the time the answer is yes. The doctors encourage education in the clinic. So far Jackson, WY’s conference has been my favorite place to go for out of office learning. Everyone at GOC is very tightknit, more like a family than a group of coworkers. I can see myself retiring here.
