Photo of Dr. Jordan
Roger Jordan
O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Jordan’s passion is providing professional optometric services to his patients. When he is not in the office seeing patients, Dr. Jordan is out fighting for optometry on the national and worldwide level. You may also find him on the golf course.

Dr. Jordan was born and raised in Montana. He began practicing at Gillette Optometric Clinic in November 1980. He attended Montana State University, graduating with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree. From there, he went on to attend Southern California College of Optometry and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

He is certified to use topical and oral pharmaceutical agents. Among his interests are the fitting of contact lenses, treating disease, pathology, and treating special needs patients. Dr. Jordan also has hospital privileges.

He currently serves on the World Council of Optometry. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and served for over 12 years as President of the State Board of Examiners in Optometry. He is the past president of the Wyoming Optometric Association.

Nationally, he is a past chairman of the American Optometric Association Political Action Committee and served on the Federal Relations Committee for the AOA in Washington, DC, for over 10 years. He was appointed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services for a 4-year term on the Practicing Physician Advisory Council, being the only non-MD.

Joseph Maycock
O.D.

Dr. Maycock returned to Gillette to provide professional optometric services for his hometown. When not in the office, Dr. Maycock is busy on the state level for the optometric field. Dr. Maycock is also busy helping on his family’s ranch.

Dr. Maycock began practicing with Gillette Optometric Clinic in November 2003. A Gillette native, Dr. Maycock is pleased to be back in his hometown to provide quality eye care.

Before attending optometry school, Dr. Maycock graduated summa cum laude from Black Hills State University. He is a 2003 Southern California College of Optometry graduate of distinction, where he was awarded the Vistakon Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care and the RGP Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence in GP Contact Lenses.

In addition to his interest in contact lenses, he also enjoys pediatric optometry, low vision, ocular disease management, pre- and post-cataract and refractive surgery care, and dry eye management.

Dr. Maycock takes an active role in the community by serving as a member of the Gillette College Campus Advisory Board, officiating swimming competitions, and being an active member of the Gillette Rotary Club.

Joseph Fischer
O.D.

Dr. Fischer is a native of ND. He came to Gillette to provide the best eye care to the community while being close to home. When Dr. Fischer is not in the office, he may be found hunting in the mountains or out with the family on activities.

Dr. Fischer began practicing in Gillette in October 2010. Before moving to Gillette, he attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. He was then accepted into Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, where he received his Bachelor’s of Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry, graduating with distinction.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Wyoming Optometric Association. Dr. Fischer is very pleased to be a part of the Gillette community and is proud to deliver professional optometric services in the areas of primary care, ocular disease, and low vision, and specializes in vision therapy.

In 2021, the state of Wyoming passed the optometric scope expansion, and since then, Dr. Fischer has been providing laser procedures at the clinic to help our patients stay in town and not have to travel. Dr. Fischer is a member of Rotary and enjoys being involved in the community.

Ashlee Mills-Fischer
O.D.

Dr. Mills-Fischer is happy to be back in her hometown to deliver professional optometric services to the community she grew up in. Dr. Mills-Fischer is active in Vision Source on the state and national level. When not in the office, she is out on activities with her children.

Dr. Ashlee Mills-Fischer began practicing at Gillette Optometric Clinic in October 2011. As a Gillette native, she is excited to be home to provide quality, comprehensive eye care to Gillette and our surrounding community.

After graduating from Campbell County High School, Dr. Mills-Fischer attended undergraduate school at The University of Montana, where she graduated with high honors, as well as from the Davidson Honors College. While in school, she discovered her passion for health care, along with Montana Grizzly football.

Before attending optometry school, she moved to Denver, Colorado, to pursue her interests in vision and eye care, where she worked as a patient counselor for a LASIK center. Dr. Mills-Fischer was honored to be accepted into Pacific University College of Optometry and graduated with distinction, in addition to a four-year membership in Beta Alpha Psi Honors Society.

Today, she is an active member of the community, participating in Kiwanis and the Gillette Area Leadership Institute. Dr. Mills-Fischer provides overall optometric care along with areas such as visual therapy, sports vision therapy, contact lenses, and the treatment of ocular diseases. She feels privileged to work alongside her husband, Dr. Joe Fischer.

Melissa Younger
O.D.

Dr. Younger is a Minnesota native who moved to Gillette to be able to provide professional eye care to our community. Dr. Younger moved her family here to WY to enjoy the beautiful mountains and outdoors.

Dr. Melissa Younger joined the practice in July 2016. Dr. Younger is originally from the plains in the Midwest of Minnesota. She is very excited to be in Wyoming, closer to the mountains.

She attended undergraduate school at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then moved to Oregon for optometry school at Pacific University College of Optometry, where she met Drs. Ashlee and Joe Fischer.

After graduating with distinction from optometry school, she moved to southwestern Minnesota, where she practiced primary care optometry for the hospital.

Dr. Younger is delighted to serve the Gillette community. She is passionate about providing quality eye care for all ages. When she is not in the office, you may run into her hiking or backpacking with her family in the Bighorns.

Lu'Aie Dia
O.D., F.A.A.O.M.S

Dr. Dia is a Casper native and joined our office in July 2025. Dr. Dia brings with him experience in laser procedures, which he performed while doing a residency in OK. Dr. Dia enjoys the outdoors and his wonderful fiancée, along with their 2 dogs.

Dr. Dia brings with him advanced training and a strong commitment to full-scope optometric care. Dr. Dia was born in Texas and moved to Casper, WY, in 2008. He graduated from Natrona County High School.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of WY before completing his Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Driven to further enhance his clinical skills, Dr. Dia pursued a Primary Care Residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. The residency focused on ocular disease, minor surgical procedures, and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Dia earned his fellowship with the American Academy of Optometric Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Dia enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, and video games.
